Privacy Policy
TapFix AI Keyboard is a keyboard and AI writing assistant that helps you fix, rewrite, translate and style text. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app may process, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to both the iOS and Android versions of the app. By using TapFix AI Keyboard you agree to the practices described here.
Our core principles
- TapFix does not record normal keyboard typing.
- TapFix does not sell user data.
- TapFix does not use your text for advertising.
- TapFix does not track users across apps or websites.
- TapFix does not store provider API keys inside the app.
Normal typing stays local. AI features send text only when you explicitly use an AI action.
Data that may be processed
1. Text sent to AI
When you tap an AI feature, TapFix may send the text you selected, copied, or entered to TapFix servers to generate a correction, rewrite, translation, emoji suggestion, or reply. This text is sent only to complete the action you requested.
2. Anonymous device identifier
TapFix may use an anonymous, app-generated device identifier for security, abuse prevention, and App Attest or server-issued session authorization. It is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
3. App and request metadata
TapFix may process technical metadata such as app version, bundle identifier, action type, target language, writing style, request hash, server status, latency, and authentication status. This is used to operate the service, authorize legitimate requests, and diagnose errors.
4. Local keyboard data
Custom words, settings, language choices, themes, quick replacements, emoji recents, clipboard history, and keyboard preferences may be stored locally on your device or in the app group container. This data stays on the device until you clear it or uninstall the app.
What we do not collect
- TapFix does not collect contacts.
- TapFix does not collect location.
- TapFix does not collect photos or videos.
- TapFix does not collect payment information.
- TapFix does not collect advertising identifiers.
- TapFix does not use tracking SDKs.
- TapFix does not continuously upload keystrokes.
iOS — TapFix Keyboard iOS only
On iOS, TapFix works as a custom keyboard (a Keyboard Extension):
- Normal typing, swipe typing, local dictionaries and basic suggestions work locally on the device.
- AI Reply, Rewrite, Translate, Style and Fix send text to the server only after you explicitly tap that AI action.
- Allow Full Access is required for network-based AI features, app group settings, and extended functionality. Without Full Access the basic keyboard still works, but AI features are limited. You can disable Full Access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Local data — custom styles, settings, language, emoji recents and clipboard history — is stored on the device or in the App Group container.
- Microphone is used only for dictation, when you start dictation.
- iOS does not use the Android Accessibility Service or an Android-style screen overlay.
Android — TapFix AI Keyboard Android only
The following apply to the Android version only:
- Keyboard service: allows Android to use TapFix AI Keyboard as the active input method. Android may show a standard third-party keyboard warning because keyboards can process typed text.
- Accessibility Service (Android only): used by the floating AI button and cross-app text editing to detect editable fields, read selected text only when you request an AI action, and insert the result back. It is never used for background data collection, advertising, or profiling.
- Display over other apps (Android only): used to show the floating AI button above supported apps.
The iOS version does not include these Android-only capabilities.
Common to both platforms
On both iOS and Android, AI requests are sent to the TapFix backend at api.tapfixai.app to provide correction, rewrite, translation, style and reply features. Requests may include the action type, the text you submitted for that action, the target language or style, and the technical metadata described above. The same translation and style features and the same anonymous device identifier model are used across platforms.
Data retention
AI text is processed only to complete your request and is not stored longer than necessary to provide the result. Server logs are designed to avoid storing full prompt content. Security and operational logs may be kept for abuse prevention and reliability, but are designed to avoid storing user text.
Third-party AI providers
TapFix may use third-party AI providers and cloud infrastructure to process AI requests. Text is sent to these providers only as needed to provide the AI feature you selected, and only the data required for that feature. TapFix does not sell user data to third parties.
Security
All AI requests are sent over HTTPS. iOS App Store builds use Apple App Attest or server-issued authorization sessions to help verify that requests come from the legitimate app. No digital service can guarantee complete security, so please avoid submitting passwords, banking credentials, private keys, or other highly sensitive information for AI processing.
Your choices
- You can disable Full Access in iOS Settings (or disable Accessibility / overlay permissions on Android).
- You can avoid AI processing simply by not tapping AI actions.
- You can uninstall the app at any time to remove local data.
- You can request deletion by contacting support@tapfixai.app or using the Delete My Data page.
Account and data deletion
TapFix does not require an account for keyboard use. You can request deletion of data associated with your anonymous device ID or a support request at any time. See the Delete My Data page, or the Account deletion page if you created a TapFix account. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Some data may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal, tax, payment, or compliance reasons.
Children's privacy
TapFix AI Keyboard is a productivity tool and is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law. TapFix does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
TapFix may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the updated version is published on this page with a new effective date. Please review it periodically.
